Who are your instructors?

Atlantic Ivy was founded by Ricky Huang, former Director of Training at the Oxford Union. Our coaches include debaters from Oxford, Harvard, Cambridge, and Columbia who have competed at the highest international levels. Many have won major tournaments like the World Universities Debating Championship and have trained national teams.

Do you offer online classes?

Yes! We offer live online classes for debate, public speaking, and academic writing programs. Students worldwide can join our expert-led sessions via Zoom with the same quality instruction as our in-person Dubai classes.

What age groups do you serve?

We welcome students from age 5 through 18, with age-appropriate programs at every level. Public speaking starts at ages 5-6, competitive debate typically begins around 10-12, and we offer advanced programs for teenagers. We also provide executive coaching and corporate training for professionals.

Where are you located in Dubai?

Our Dubai training center is at 12AC12 I-Rise Tower in Barsha Heights, easily accessible from Dubai Marina, JLT, and Media City. We offer both in-person classes at this location and live online classes for students anywhere in the world.

Can I try a class before enrolling?

Absolutely! We offer free 2-hour trial classes so your child can experience our teaching approach before committing. Book your trial class anytime—no payment required, no commitment necessary.

At the Harvard Invitational 2026, our students achieved a 30% break rate with teams reaching elimination rounds and speakers placing in top rankings out of 466 competitors. Our students regularly place at Stanford, Yale, Oxford, and Cambridge tournaments, and many have been admitted to top universities worldwide.

How do I choose the right program?

How do I know which level is right for my child?

Book a free consultation and we'll assess your child's current abilities, age, and goals. Generally, younger students (5-10) start in Public Speaking, while older students (10+) with some confidence can join Debate Academy. Our Scholars programs are by invitation for students who show competitive potential.

What is the class size?

Public Speaking and Debate Academy courses have 8-10 students maximum. Scholars programs are limited to 6-8 students for intensive individual attention. We keep classes small to ensure every student gets meaningful practice time.

Do you offer trial classes?

Yes! We offer trial sessions for most courses. Contact us to arrange a trial so your child can experience our teaching style before committing to a full semester.

What debate formats do you teach?

We teach World Schools (WSDC), British Parliamentary (BP), Public Forum (PF), and Lincoln-Douglas (LD). Most students start with World Schools as it's the most common format in the GCC. Advanced students learn additional formats based on their competition goals.

How do payments work?

Payment is made per semester (10 weeks). Early bird pricing offers significant savings for those who register before the deadline. Payment plans are available upon request.

What if my child misses a class?

We record key lectures and provide make-up materials. For missed practice rounds, we coordinate with coaches to ensure your child stays on track. Contact us if you anticipate extended absences.

Do you help with tournament registration?

Yes! We assist with tournament registration, travel coordination for international competitions, and provide pre-tournament preparation. Our tournament support includes finding partners and preparing cases specific to each competition.
