Junior Fundamentals of Public Speaking and Debate

Our youngest class, for ages 6-8: speaking games, show-and-tell, storytelling and first friendly mini-debates that build a clear voice and real confidence. In person in Barsha Heights.

About this course

A first class for young speakers who are just starting to stand up and talk in front of others. Through speaking games, show-and-tell, storytelling and short prepared talks, students learn to be heard, look at their audience and put their ideas in order. From the middle of the term the same skills feed into simple, friendly mini-debates - taking a side, giving one reason and listening to the other team - so children meet debate as a game long before they meet it as a format. Every child speaks in every session, and parents get filmed clips to see the change. Eight weekly two-hour sessions per term at our centre in I-Rise Tower, Barsha Heights, capped at eight students. The first session is a free trial.
