Atlantic Ivy offers comprehensive educational programs including debate training, public speaking classes, university admissions consulting, academic writing programs, tournament training, summer intensives, and corporate communication training. We serve students aged 5-18 and professionals across Dubai and globally online.

Who are your instructors?

Atlantic Ivy was founded by Ricky Huang, former Director of Training at the Oxford Union. Our coaches include debaters from Oxford, Harvard, Cambridge, and Columbia who have competed at the highest international levels. Many have won major tournaments like the World Universities Debating Championship and have trained national teams.

Do you offer online classes?

Yes! We offer live online classes for debate, public speaking, and academic writing programs. Students worldwide can join our expert-led sessions via Zoom with the same quality instruction as our in-person Dubai classes.

What age groups do you serve?

We welcome students from age 5 through 18, with age-appropriate programs at every level. Public speaking starts at ages 5-6, competitive debate typically begins around 10-12, and we offer advanced programs for teenagers. We also provide executive coaching and corporate training for professionals.

Where are you located in Dubai?

Our Dubai training center is at 12AC12 I-Rise Tower in Barsha Heights, easily accessible from Dubai Marina, JLT, and Media City. We offer both in-person classes at this location and live online classes for students anywhere in the world.

Can I try a class before enrolling?

Absolutely! We offer free 2-hour trial classes so your child can experience our teaching approach before committing. Book your trial class anytime—no payment required, no commitment necessary.

What results have your students achieved?

At the Harvard Invitational 2026, our students achieved a 30% break rate with teams reaching elimination rounds and speakers placing in top rankings out of 466 competitors. Our students regularly place at Stanford, Yale, Oxford, and Cambridge tournaments, and many have been admitted to top universities worldwide.

How do I choose the right program?

How do I know which of the four programs is right for my child?

Quick read: Intro to Debate is for ages 9–13 with no prior experience — a once-a-week, low-pressure introduction to public speaking and structured argument. Flagship Camp is our core seven-week program for ages 10–17 with some experience or strong motivation — three sessions a week covering big-idea topics (AI, geopolitics, ethics) plus week-by-week enrollment so families can join for any number of weeks. Advanced WSDC is invite-style and capped at six students total — for students already competing internationally who want to train for fall tournaments. Public Forum is for students aiming at US-format tournaments (Harvard, Yale, Stanford) — focused on partner debate, evidence, and the American style. If you're unsure, send us a short WhatsApp with your child's age and experience — we recommend the right track within one business day, and it's fine to switch tracks in the first two weeks.

Can students join mid-summer, skip weeks, or take a family holiday?

Flagship Camp is built for this — every week is a self-contained module with its own topic and curriculum, so students can join for any number of weeks (minimum two) and the pricing is per-week. Look for the "Week-by-week available" flag on the Flagship Camp card. Intro to Debate and Public Forum follow a more progressive curriculum but accommodate one or two missed sessions with a recorded review. Advanced WSDC requires the full seven-week commitment because the cohort is capped at six and the curriculum builds toward a team performance at fall tournaments — we can't backfill a student mid-summer without disrupting the others.

Are sessions in person at your Dubai office, online, or both?

It depends on the program — and most offer a choice. Intro to Debate runs Saturdays in-person at our Barsha Heights, Dubai office, OR Sundays online — same curriculum, same coaches. Flagship Camp has three variants: two in-person tracks (ages 10–13 and ages 13–17) and a fully online track; the in-person tracks also include one online session per week so students can stay engaged when traveling. Advanced WSDC and Public Forum are fully online so we can keep the best coaches teaching across timezones. The in-person office is on Sheikh Zayed Road in Barsha Heights — easy parking, ten minutes from JLT, fifteen from Downtown.

Who actually teaches the sessions, and what makes the coaching different?

Our summer coaches include former Oxford Union head coaches, World Schools Debating Championship finalists, and Harvard Invitational quarterfinalists. The team has trained students who've won the John Locke Essay Competition, broken at Harvard, and represented the UAE national team. Advanced WSDC specifically rotates world-class instructors — past summers have included coaches who've trained the Singapore, India, and UK national teams. The difference families notice most: every student gets named, written feedback after every session (not just a participation grade), cohorts are small (Advanced is capped at six, Flagship Camp at twelve), and we teach genuine intellectual material — geopolitics, AI ethics, philosophy — not watered-down "kids' debate" topics.

How do we enroll, and is there a payment plan?

You can either pay directly on the program page (Stripe Checkout, secure card payment) or message us on WhatsApp at +971 50 933 6806 to discuss scheduling, sibling discounts, or early-enrollment offers before booking. We also accept bank transfer for full-summer enrollments. Pricing is per-week for Flagship Camp (so a family can commit to two weeks first and extend) and full-program for the others. Sibling discount is 10% off the second child; full-summer Flagship Camp gets a bundled rate vs. seven individual weeks. We don't require a deposit — full payment confirms the spot, and refunds are available up to two weeks before camp start.

What happens after summer, and does this lead anywhere?

Three paths. (1) Most students continue into our regular term courses in September — Flagship Camp graduates typically advance one to two levels and join Scholars or Academy classes. (2) Tournament-bound students join our fall competitive teams, which feed directly into Oxford World Schools (December), the Harvard Invitational (February — where we hit a 50% break rate in 2026), and the Junior WSDC. (3) Older students preparing for university applications use the summer as the foundation for John Locke essays, MUN leadership roles, and the kind of "intellectual extracurricular" that strengthens Common App and UCAS applications. We don't push families into year-round commitment — many do one strong summer and check in for tournaments. But the curriculum is designed so it compounds if they stay.

Frequently asked

Camp runs July 6 through August 21, 2026 — seven weeks total. All session times are anchored to Dubai (GST · UTC+4), but every program page has a timezone toggle so you can view times in Singapore, Hong Kong, India, UK, or US zones. Most programs meet two to three times a week for 90–120 minutes per session. Each program detail page shows the exact day-by-day weekly breakdown plus a sample week of what students cover in those sessions. Flagship Camp also runs one online session a week (typically Friday) regardless of whether your child attends the in-person or fully online track.
