The Schola Mentorship - 20 Hour 1-on-1
Extended one-on-one supervision for The Schola: two full essay cycles, or one longer essay taken through several rounds of revision, with 20 flexible hours.
About this course
The extended Schola track gives a student 20 hours of one-on-one mentorship for either two complete essay cycles or one ambitious essay revised through multiple rounds. Students work on a humanities or social-science question in philosophy, politics, sociology, history, literature or public policy, developing the thesis, research base, citations and prose to the standard of a quarterly journal that reviews rolling submissions in two to three weeks. The additional hours also cover planning the same research toward essay competitions such as the John Locke Essay Prize. Sessions are scheduled flexibly with a Writing Scholars tutor and hours are used within six months. The $180 per-submission fee is paid to The Schola directly; acceptance is decided by the journal and is never guaranteed.
