One-on-one editing mentorship toward a Polyphony Lit submission: poetry, fiction or creative nonfiction shaped to the standard of a student-edited international literary magazine. 10 flexible hours.
About this course
Polyphony Lit is a student-edited international literary magazine that publishes poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction by high school writers, with two free general-submission windows a year (October to November and March to April) that close once 200 pieces arrive. This 10-hour one-on-one mentorship starts with a diagnostic read of the student's existing drafts, then works through line editing, structure, voice and revision toward one or two submission-ready pieces timed to the next window. Sessions are scheduled flexibly with a Writing Scholars tutor, hours are used within six months, and the student submits to Polyphony Lit directly (submission is free). Acceptance is decided by the magazine and is never guaranteed.
